BBQ Flank Steak Sandwich

with Honey Chipotle Barbecue Sauce
time: Over An Hour | serves: 1 to 8
  • 1 1/2 pound flank steak
  • Marinade:
  • 1/2 cup Sweet Baby Ray's Honey Chipotle Barbecue Sauce
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Zest of 1/2 a lime
  • Mayonnaise:
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Sweet Baby Ray's Honey Chipotle Barbecue Sauce
  • 1 green onion minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • Place flank steak in a shallow dish. Combine the 1/2 cup barbecue sauce, oil, and lime zest. Pour over the steak, turn to coat.
  • Cover and marinate at least 4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Remove from marinade and cook on a grill rack set over hot coals for 10-12 minutes, turning once.
  • While the steak is cooking, combine ingredients for the mayonnaise until well blended. Spread mayonnaise mixture on the bottom half of your favorite bun, layer with lettuce and thinly sliced steak.
  • Top with bun tops. Makes 8 sandwiches.
